Bay Mills Community College

Michael C. (Mickey) Parish earned his Bachelor of Arts from Lake Superior State University and continued on to complete his Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He has served the Native American population of Michigan since 1971. This dedication has included consulting duties, tribal and child welfare attorney, Executive Director of the Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan, and President of the Bay Mills Indian Community. In April of 2002, Mickey was named President of Bay Mills Community College. During his tenure, BMCC has experienced unprecedented growth including the establishment of the Bay Mills Community College Charter School Office. President Parish is well versed in all aspects of BMCC’s duties and responsibilities as a community college president of the only tribal college authorized to charter state public school academies.
